Tomorrow’s Light Voices of Domestic Violence

James Community Movement, JCM Where Gary Lloyd James is the Founder and President. JCM is a non-profit organization that came together from the vision of it's founder. This a passionate subject for James, as he continues his quest to be a visible advocate for women who have been victims of domestic violence and who are being abused. This film Tomorrow's Light, is currently in pre-production.

James, an Author, Poet, Artist and Minister, is on a mission to speak out against domestic violence. The documentary’s title comes from “A Woman’s Tears,” one of James’ poems, which was inspired by a dream he had on July 18, 2004 in which he made a promise to a woman that her tears would not be shed in vain.

The filmmakers are working in partnership with New Jersey-based, nonprofit domestic violence service providers toward giving the film added authenticity.

The documentary explores the disturbing issue of domestic violence and its emotional impact on children caught in the middle of this alarming battleground. Interviews, Gary’s heartfelt poetry, music and art combine to highlight the need for society to protect women and children, help them heal, and move beyond a world of violence.

James says he will remain vigilant and active in his efforts to get this documentary out into the public arena. He knows he was called by God and given a task to help end domestic violence. He has also experienced some resistance from women, which is understandable. He realizes that this is not the norm and it is very rare for a man to take on an issue as sensitive as domestic violence. James says, “Some women may wonder what's my angle . They remind me that men, are usually the abusers  and that it is odd to see a man writing with such feeling and compassion about the horrors of domestic violence. I was also asked why I am doing this? A simple answer was, because I must.”

Tomorrow’s Light will be a compelling documentary, unique in how the message is given. JCM hopes that the stories and the message will ring out loud and clear: That we must all work together to put an end to domestic violence.”
